Medical Advisory Board

The mission of the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF) is to find a cure for neuroblastoma through research funding, education, awareness and advocacy programs. To help us achieve our goals, we established a Medical Advisory Board, comprised of some of the most respected neuroblastoma experts in the world.

Since neuroblastoma cancer is rare, it is imperative that dollars raised are put to the best use in order to hasten the research process. Through collaboration and focused discussions, our renowned Medical Advisory Board provides expert guidance in determining the most promising neuroblastoma research projects to fund so our resources will have the most impact.

CNCF’s Young Investigators Program is designed to benefit the doctors who have a passion and desire to conduct neuroblastoma research early in their careers. CNCF’s Medical Advisory Board reviews grant applications in basic science studies that identify pathways of cell growth and cell death, sensitivity of new drugs and agents on neuroblastoma cell lines in the laboratory, overcoming drug resistance and novel combinations of drugs to improve anti-tumor effects, to name a few areas of investigation.

The CNCF Medical Advisory Board plays a critical role in reviewing grant proposals as well as clinical trial submittals and confirmation of grants provided to the New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy (NANT) consortium.

Members of the Medical Advisory Board help identify relevant topics to be addressed each year at CNCF’s Annual Parent Education Conference. This valuable program strengthens the relationships between the parents of neuroblastoma patients and the medical team treating their child in order to improve communication throughout their neuroblastoma journey.
