CNCF gets a boost with #GrouponSaysThanks Campaign

In recognition of all the great work the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF) does for children and families affected by neuroblastoma, deal-of-the-day website Groupon is pushing the message across its national platforms with its #GrouponSaysThanks campaign on September 23.

#GrouponSaysThanks is a program operated by Groupon that recognizes nonprofits making substantial impacts in their sphere. For the entire day on September 23, Groupon will promote the work of CNCF with a banner on the Groupon Coupons homepage, a blog post and website banners. Groupon developed the concept to help promote the good works of charities and nonprofits across the nation, with the idea of driving people to the organization's website, helping to raise funds and awareness via Groupon's online coupons site.

CNCF President Patricia Tallungan expressed her gratitude to the Groupon company, and praised the concept behind #GrouponSaysThanks.

"We are extremely grateful to be included in the #GrouponSaysThanks campaign. Not only does it raise funds and our profile and better enable to us continue the fight against neuroblastoma, the recognition by Groupon is gratifying in and of itself," said Tallungan. "There are a lot of worthy causes out there, so we are honored to be chosen for this national campaign."

CNCF raises money to support research, educate families and raise awareness about neuroblastoma, which has an estimated 800 new cases a year. The Groupon opportunity comes during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

"People don't realize, but pediatric cancers receive a fraction of the money raised for cancer research," Tallungan said. "It's important that fundraising efforts target specific diseases that aren't on the funding radar. Research and clinical trials are making a difference. We need to keep them funded to improve survival rates and limit harsh side effects. Give kids with neuroblastoma a fighting chance."
