Rows of tables filled with homemade treats will sweeten the day at Texas Children’s Hospital on Friday, Oct. 11
. The now legendary Houston Bake Sales typically bring in between $1,500 and $3,000 for neuroblastoma research, awareness and education. The holiday sale last December was exceptional, raising $3,250, and paid tribute to one of our angels, Hans Weberling. His mom, Lara Cady Weberling, orchestrated the first bake sale in 2008 when Hans was undergoing neuroblastoma treatment. The Weberlings moved to California, but the Texas-sized tradition continues.
“A bake sale continues to be one of the most fun and easiest ways to raise money for a cause. What families are doing in Houston can be replicated anywhere,” says Pat Tallungan, CNCF President. “We’re open to your ideas and would welcome more fundraising efforts like this in other cities."
Online donations in honor of the Houston Bake Sale are welcome, too. Please go to www.cncfhope.org
