Ryan Diem, right tackle for the Indianapolis Colts, took on a barrage of enthusiastic elementary and middle school students last month at the annual Dodge Ball Tournament benefitting the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.
The event was held at Manning Elementary School, 200 N. Linden Ave., in Westmont. Teams were formed in advance of the event to compete for medals and bragging rights. Diem was a moving target for the “dodgeball throwdown.” Younger students got a chance to light him up.
The tournament was organized by the family of fifth grade Manning student, Luke Gifford and his parents Christa and Bruce to benefit Allie and Friends, an organization created to support the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.
Ryan Diem, right tackle for the Indianapolis Colts, posed for pictures and signed autographs throughout the event as well. There was also a “dodgeball throwdown” and a chance for younger students to throw dodgeballs at Diem for a donation. Diem supports fundraising for neuroblastoma research and education through Allie and Friends, which hosts an annual golf outing to support CNCF.
